WU Institute for Macroeconomics

The Institute for Macroeconomics is an economics institute dealing mainly with economic policy, macroeconomics and public finance. Internationally recognised research in these fields is one of the Institute’s main priorities, as demonstrated by the numerous books and papers in national and international journals as well as research cooperations in Austria and abroad.

Research and teaching form an integral part of the Institute’s activities. Since a majority of students graduating from the WU obtain employment at large private or public institutions, we consider it of vital importance to familiarize them with theoretical, empirical and institutional knowledge about Austrian and European economic policy. It is very important to us to work closely together with our students.
