Íngrid Vendrell Ferran completed her doctorate in 2007 at the Free University of Berlin with a dissertation on feeling in early phenomenology. She habilitated in 2017 with a project on forms of recognition in literature. She is the author of two books Die Emotionen. Gefühle in der realistischen Phänomenologie (Akademie Verlag 2008) and Die Vielfalt der Erkenntnis. Eine Analyse des kognitiven Werts der Literatur (Mentis Verlag, forthcoming) und co-editor of several books including Empathie im Film. Perspektiven der Ästhetischen Theorie, Phänomenologie und Analytischen Philosophie (together with Malte Hagener, Transcript 2017). As a NOMIS Fellow at eikones she will work on the project titled “Imaginative Participation and Empathetic Knowledge in Documentary Film.”
