Jörg Heldmann has served as deputy managing director at the NOMIS Foundation since May 2023.
He studied political science, economics and public law at Philipps-Universität Marburg, Universidad Católica del Uruguay and the University of Minnesota. In the course of his PhD thesis on the Cuban economic and political integration in Latin America, he received a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) to spend some research time in La Habana, Cuba. Prior to his appointment at the NOMIS Foundation he had been working for the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany as the managing director of the World Health Summit and administrative director in the Global Health department, which he helped to found.
