Isabella Bower is a 2023 NOMIS & Science Young Explorer Award finalist. She is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of South Australia.
Isabella Bower received her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in architecture from Deakin University and the University of Melbourne (Australia). After completing a PhD in psychology at Deakin University, she was awarded a prestigious postdoctoral research fellowship from the University of South Australia and the Emerging Researcher Award from the Australasian Cognitive Neuroscience Society. Her research explores whether we can improve brain functioning and mental health through built environment design.
Her award-winning essay, “How do our environments affect our minds?” details her research into how building design shapes our behavioral, brain and body responses.
