With great sorrow we bid farewell to Georg Heinrich (“Heini”) Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászon
1950–2022
Georg Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza established the NOMIS Foundation in 2008 with the vision of enabling outstanding scientists to conduct innovative and extraordinary research projects. Through his calm and judicious nature, he has fundamentally and lastingly shaped the foundation as chairman of the board. He was a forward-looking advocate for the foundation’s vision of “creating a spark” in the world of science. Georg Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza’s commitment has enabled researchers worldwide to courageously cultivate new ideas and insights.
The NOMIS board of trustees, management team and all employees extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and will always deeply cherish and honor the memory of Heini Thyssen.
