NOMIS Distinguished Scientist Didier Fassin elected Collège de France Annual Chair of Public Health

Didier Fassin, James D. Wolfensohn Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study, has been elected the Annual Chair of Public Health at the Collège de France for 2019–20.

Founded by Francis I in 1530, the Collège de France is a public higher education and cutting-edge research institution, which is unique in Europe. It has fifty-one chairs covering all scientific disciplines, six of which are annual chairs. Created in partnership with the French National Public Health Agency, the Annual Chair of Public Health is designed to encourage excellence in research and intellectual debate on questions of public health with the goal of bringing greater understanding of contemporary public health issues to the medical and scientific communities, policymakers, and the general public, both in France and around the world.
