London Short Film Festival: Rainer Kohlberger Retrospective + Q&A

January 13, 2020 @ 19:00 - 20:30

London Short Film Festival returns to the capital for its 17th edition, with the Science Museum hosting a co-curated evening of science and film art celebrating the work of Rainer Kohlberger.

Working across a spectrum of forms that includes live performance, installations, mobile apps and film, Austrian visual artist Rainer Kohlberger manipulates algorithmically generated imagery to create visceral audio-visual experiences that delve into topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and digital utopias.

Using hypnotic flicker effects, white noise and intense psychedelic imagery, Kohlberger’s experimental work will take you on an unforgettable audio visual journey.

Screenings are interspersed with conversations on subjects such as transhumanism, AI and human consciousness, between:

Rainer and Anna Ridler, an artist and researcher specialising in AI and machine learning
Rainer and Manos Tsakiris Professor of Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London
